The project FORWARD Fashion, Crafts and Design for Women Empowerment won a European Union application call, in the scope of Erasmus +’s horizontal priority: inclusion and diversity.

A strategic partnership that brings together Italy, Romania and Portugal in a project that aims to tackle social issues of disparity, poverty and inaccessibility through adult education. By implementing innovative training programmes, specific to the needs and demographics of each country, the three partner organisations will conceive and develop requalification pathways focused on improving accessibility and increasing the dissemination of adult education. Additionally, each training programme seeks to promote jobs and career development in the sectors of fashion, crafts and design.

The project is aimed at women in disadvantaged situations caused by various factors, and created to help them socially and economically through these practices. The equal focus on the protection and preservation of fashion, design and crafts is inherently linked to the attention on the role of women and their relevance at the forefront of today’s society — an issue that continues to be a priority in the beginning of this Century.

The activities started in November 2022 and will conclude in June 2023 in the three participating countries.

FORWARD Fashion, Crafts and Design for Women Empowerment is coordinated by FLO Concept in partnership with Formazione Firenze, TON: The Open Network for Community Development and Design Foundation for Women And Crafts.
